Hi there! I’m a real estate agent by day, an avid hunter on the weekends, and this is my blog. I live in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina have a wonderful husband and fellow hunter, whose name is Trippett. My passion for hunting is rooted in growing up in a hunting family with 6 brothers and sisters on a 250 acre dairy farm in Northeastern Pennsylvania. My 3 brothers and my Dad all hunted. As a little girl, I was mesmerized to see my Dad return from a hunt as he pulled out rabbits, pheasants, quail, and grouse out of his hunting coat. It was like a magic coat to me. We appreciated very much the food that it provided for our family and even though we lived on a dairy farm, our meat source was venison and other wild game. I loved everything about hunting and was always fascinated with guns and archery.
But as I grew up and moved on, I had no opportunity to hunt until about 12 years ago. Being married to an avid duck hunter, I recall being envious of my husband’s outings with friends on dove hunts, duck hunts, quail hunts. .. I really felt left out. I made my feelings known and the year my girls both went off to college, my husband surprised me with a 20 gauge over under shotgun, some hunting clothes and all the things I needed to go dove hunting. That is is how it all started. We have had so much fun together and he is thrilled that I am more excited about going to a sporting store than going to the mall! Years later and many dove hunts, quail hunts and a few duck hunts, I talked my husband into going on a deer hunt. We outfitted ourselves with .270 rifles and all the things we needed to be deer hunters! My husband never deer hunted, but he was fortunate to have been on 3 African safaris when he was a teenager and shot large game at that time, so he was an experienced hunter for sure, just not deer.
Years later, with many successful hunts, we have gotten hooked on deer hunting, hog hunting, turkey hunting and of course, bird hunting. I started this blog to share my great outdoors experiences and tips I’ve learned over the years with girls who want to learn more about hunting and fishing. I am in no way an expert, but my passion and desire to protect the tradition of hunting is why I started this blog. I would love for more girls to experience it as well. Hope you enjoy reading!
