Hunting Passion

girls who love guns

Maggie Boineau, Founder of

Welcome to my blog!  I live in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina have a wonderful husband and fellow hunter, whose name is Trippett. My passion for hunting is rooted in growing up in a hunting family with 6 brothers and sisters on a 250 acre dairy farm in Northeastern  Pennsylvania. My three brothers and my Dad all hunted. As a little girl, I was mesmerized to see my Dad return from a hunt as he pulled out rabbits, pheasants, quail, and grouse out of his hunting coat.  It was like a magic coat to me.  We appreciated very much the food that it provided for our family, and even though we lived on a dairy farm, our meat source was venison and other wild game.   I loved everything about hunting and was always fascinated with guns and archery.

As I grew up and moved on, I didn’t have opportunities to hunt.  Being married to an avid duck hunter, I recall being envious of my husband’s opportunities to go on dove, duck,  and quail hunts with his friends. I really felt left out, and I made my feelings known.  The year my girls both went off to college, my husband surprised me with a 20 gauge over under shotgun,  some hunting clothes and all the things I needed to go dove hunting. That is is how it all started. We have had so much fun together and he is thrilled that I am more excited about going to a sporting store than going to the mall! Years later and many dove hunts, quail hunts and a few duck hunts, our hunting passion continued with whitetail, hog, turkey, and critter hunting.  I have made it almost a year round passion, rounding it out with clay shooting in the off season.  I am getting my fishing groove on and taking to the beautiful waters that are at my back door!  My husband was fortunate to have been on three African safaris when he was a teenager and shot big game at that time, so he was a passionate hunter for sure.  However, he could not foresee his wife being the primary hunter as it has become over the past years!

The mission behind Camo365 is to bring attention to the many reasons to protect our 2nd Amendment. While we in the hunting community know, our 2nd Amendment rights don’t have anything to do with hunting; however, it is a topic that bonds us together.  Our Founders did not have grocery stores so hunting was their way of life. It was written so that citizens could protect themselves and their property.  Hunting is something that a lot of people want to protect for our future generations.  Through my blog,  I would like to encourage more women and men to discover the importance of protecting gun ownership and discourage more gun regulations.

Along with writing my blog, I made a commitment to wear  something camo every day for 365 consecutive days. Yes, 365 days of camo!!! Whether it is a hunting outfit during hunting season, a pair of camo shoes, a scarf, camo dress, camo boots, sunglasses, tote, or even a pair of flip flops,  I wanted to make a statement that our second amendment is a right that we cannot afford to lose. It was so much fun and challenging to make this happen 365 days in a row, but I took the challenge and succeeded.

I  started Camo365 to share my great outdoors experiences and tips I’ve learned over the years with girls  and guys who want to learn more about hunting and fishing. I am in no way an expert, but with my enthusiasm about hunting and fishing, I hope to raise interest with as many people as possible.  My blog is followed by nearly as many men as women and for that, I am so grateful!

I believe that by publishing a well received blog that features the many exciting aspects of hunting, fishing, and all shooting sports,  more women will want to join in.   The tradition of hunting is something we can continue to pass down to our children and their children, but only with the help of many. Statistics show that there is a dramatic increase in women hunters. Women have realized that owning a gun gives them an edge in protecting themselves and their numbers will continue to rise.

I hope my hunting blog is my fun way of spreading the word and hope that my experiences are entertaining and inspiring. Anybody at any age, can get started with hunting. Girls, don’t let you husband or boyfriend have all the fun. This is something you can do with them and they will be thrilled as they get to do what they like with your blessing! Share a good story, good laugh, good recipe, or some great photo with me. I look forward to hearing from you.

I succeeded in wearing something camo for 365 consecutive days! It was so much fun.  So much has happened since I launched this site. Besides having met so many wonderful people in the outdoor community, I have published over 175 blog posts, and have had several articles published in several media outlets.  I am so excited about the positive response I have had to my blog and looking forward to new and exciting adventures.
