What a wonderful time to reflect on all the things for which we are thankful. For today, I would love to thank all of you who have subscribed to my blog and for those who have taken the time to read my posts.  Reaching 25,000 views feels very rewarding and I hope to continue to post positive articles about hunting and fishing and the great people I meet who have a passion for outdoor life! Thank you all so very much!

My Trifecta Weekend…

For those of you who are not on FaceBook, this past weekend was a whirlwind of hunting.  Friday was exhilarating as we got on the road at 4 am to hunt deer in some cold 39 degree temps.  The brisk morning sit was as good as it gets as I watched groups of does and managed to call in some bucks.  Thankfully, I had a nice 8 pt show up and he was a good size to harvest.

The adventure continued as we loaded up and went to one of our favorite hunts each year at DW Outdoors to hunt ducks.  Hanging out at duck camp is so much fun but you have to get used to outdoor bathhouses and some rustic accommodations! We had a fantastic time sharing stories around the camp fire and enjoyed some grilled bone in pork chops and  amazing chicken perlo – the south’s best version of chicken and rice!

It is great when Dad’s pass down the tradition of hunting to their sons! Gardiner relaxing before the hunt.

Thankful for this wonderful hunt!

Happy Hunters! Michael, Maggie & Trippett

Off we went after a fun time hunting ducks to our last stop… Honey Camp Dove Club where we were hoping to see some migratory birds.  The afternoon was perfect for hunting doves, but they were no shows and most of us left the field without a quarry!

Sunflowers were bright and cheerful even though the the doves were no shows!
