“Unless you make it or bake it, I can not take it!”
Trippett Boineau
My hubby has been saying this for years, and he is right on point for the most part. I don’t have a lot of talent in baking or creating; however, I understand the premise. The pressure to buy gifts takes some of the joy and spirit out of season for many people. However, with covid looming over us this year, Christmas is a welcoming celebration with a renewed appreciation of family gatherings and the tradition of gift buying.
With the challenges of the supply chain difficulties, maybe this is an opportunity to help our local communities with gift buying, considering the impact the “pandemic” has had on the economy of small businesses. Additionally, it makes it much easier to buy meaningful gifts for everyone on your list. Most of us have everything we need, so finding a thoughtful gift on Amazon or one of the big box stores is not easy.
Since I am a proponent of anything outdoors, I highlighted some great places to buy gifts right here in our local vicinity. But, of course, helping our local economy is a gift in and of itself as money recycles within the community.
